Now all this happened a few years ago and I have kept all the patterns and photos, but most of the items I made have now gone, however I thought it might be fun to document some of the pieces that I used to make.
With that in mind, I want start this series of posts with a flavor of what I will be writing about.
AK Chest Rig
This was a custom build for a lightweight chest rig. The pictures don’t show the straps, but do show the majority of the rig which is essentially a quad mag pouch. With little else on the chest rig, the rig itself is very light.
The rig can contain 4 x 30 round magazines. The closure is formed using buckles and the you can see in this picture the drain grommets.
... and here it is with the flaps closed.
Pocket Pistol Magazine Pouch
This was a much smaller custom project. The idea for this pouch was to hold a pistol magazine in a pocket. The pouch uses a metal pocket clip and elasticated sides to a heavy duty nylon pouch.
The nice thing about this design is that it can be used for larger multi-tools, flashlights, dog/bug spray etc. with little redesign required. So over the next few months I will be creating more posts and documenting a lot of what I used to make.
